“Partnering with Parents” is a compassionate training and support programme created by Choice Wellbeing Service, designed specifically for parent carers of children and young people with additional needs, disabilities, health conditions, or emotional challenges.
Built from both professional knowledge and lived experience, Partnering with Parents recognises the unique emotional, mental, and practical pressures parent carers face every day. The programme provides a safe, understanding space where parents can feel heard, supported, and empowered — without judgement or unrealistic expectations.
Through workshops, training, and reflective discussions, Partnering with Parents focuses on:
-
Parent carer mental health and wellbeing
-
Burnout, stress, and emotional overwhelm
-
Understanding behaviour and emotional regulation
-
Practical CBT-informed tools and coping strategies
-
Advocacy and navigating systems
-
Building confidence, resilience, and self-compassion
At its heart, Partnering with Parents is about helping families feel less alone. It acknowledges the realities of caring, validates the emotional load parent carers carry, and offers realistic, trauma-informed support that fits into everyday life.
The ethos behind the programme is simple:
Parents do not need to be perfect — they need support, understanding, and space to breathe.
