Practitioner Training - Effective Communication with SEND Families

Parent carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs andDisabilities (SEND) often navigate complex systems while managing significantemotional, practical, and financial pressures. This course explores the lived experiences of SEND families and helps practitioners understand how professional practice can influence trust, engagement, and outcomes.

Participants will gain insight into the challenges families face when accessing support and reflect on how services can work more effectively in partnership with parent carers. The session combines lived experience perspectives with practical reflection to support more empathetic and collaborative practice.
