About the event

Working in SEND roles can be deeply rewarding, but it also involves significant emotional demands. Supporting children and young people with complex needs, working closely with families, and navigating challenging systems can place considerable pressure on practitioners.

This interactive workshop explores the impact of burnout and compassion fatiguewithin SEND roles and provides practical strategies to help practitioners sustaintheir wellbeing while continuing to deliver compassionate, effective support.

Participants will have opportunities to reflect on the emotional labour involved in their work, recognise early warning signs of stress and exhaustion, and identify protective factors that support resilience and sustainable practice.

Through discussion, reflective activities, and practical tools, the workshop aims to support SEND practitioners in maintaining emotional wellbeing whilecontinuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families they support.
