Advocating for Your Child

This supportive workshop helps parent carers develop the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills needed to advocate effectively for their child across education, health, and social care systems. Participants will explore communication strategies, understand key SEND rights and frameworks, and learn practical approaches to preparing for meetings, gathering evidence, and raising concerns constructively.

The session also focuses on the emotional impact of advocacy, helping parent carers recognise burnout, manage stress, and build resilience whilst supporting both their child and their own wellbeing. Participants will leave feeling more informed, empowered, and confident in navigating the SEND journey without losing themselves in the process.
